Bird flu is also known as Avian Influenza. It is an infection that infects humans and animals along with birds. The majority of the virus is generating from birds. The Most common bird flu is H5N1. It is deadly to birds and it can affect human beings and animals by coming in contact.
WHO (World Health Organization) H5N1 was first found in the human in the year 1997 and in the flu, 60 percent of people were killed. Recently, the virus is not spreading through human-to-human contact. Many experts are frightened of the flu may have a risk of becoming a pandemic threat to humans.
Causes of Bird Flu:
There is various bird flu. H5N1 is the first avian influenza virus infecting humans. It was first found in Hong Kong in the year 1997. Its outbreak was handling the infection poultry.
H5N1 is occurring naturally in the wild waterfowl but it spreads easily to the domestic poultry. And also the disease is transmitting to humans through contact with the bird feces, nasal secretions, or secretions from the mouth or eyes.
Consumption of cooked poultry or eggs of infected birds will not transmit the bird flu but eggs will never serve runny. Meat is safe it is cooked to the temperature of 73.9 degrees Celsius.
The virus is spreading in humans because of close contact with an infected bird. It can be caused by touching the infectious birds, touching droppings or bedding, or also by killing or preparing the infectious poultry for cooking.
Symptoms of Bird Flu:
The symptoms of Bird Flu are predicted to be like:
Cough, Diarrhea, Respiratory problems, Fever (Above 100.4 degrees Celsius or 38 degrees Celsius), Headache, Muscle aches, Malaise, Common cold, bleeding of nose and gums, conjunctivitis, and also Sore throat.
The symptoms are observed in 3 to 5 days after getting the infection. The treatment should take place quickly for preventing complications and also to reduce the development of severe illness.

The People engaged with the poultry farm, traveling affected areas, exposing infected birds, consuming poultry or eggs, workers caring for infected patients, and a household member of infected person have a high risk of getting infected from the flu.
Diagnosis of Bird Flu:
CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) has provided approval for testing the design for identifying avian influenza. It is also known as the A/H5 virus real-time RT-PCR primer and probe set. This offers preliminary results in a few hours.
For the bird flu, doctors use to take the test of Auscultation, White Blood Cell differential, nasopharyngeal culture, and chest X-ray. And also another test for Bird Flu may include a Heart test, Kidney test, and liver test.
Treatment for Bird Flu:
Because of the different symptoms in the patients, the treatment may also vary from infected persons.
In the majority of cases, treatment is with antiviral medication like oseltamivir or zanamivir which supports reducing the severity of the disease. So the medication must be started within 48 hours after observing the symptoms.
The flu can increase the resistance for the two most common forms of antiviral medications, amantadine, and rimantadine. But this medication is also harmful so it shouldn’t be used for the treatment of diseases.
The family members and person in the contact for prescribing antivirals as a preventive measure. If they are also not observing the symptoms. And the infected person will be isolated to avoid the spreading of the virus. If an individual has a severe infection, then he can be placed on a breathing machine.
Preventions of Bird Flu:
In a foreign country, the outbreak is observed. And if you are traveling then you might take care. You must prevent yourself by following the precautions.
You must wash your hand regularly with warm water and soap. Follow it after consuming particular raw poultry.
Use different utensils for cooking raw material.
The meat should be cooked till it is steaming hot.
Maintain a safe distance with live birds and poultry.
Avoid touching birds dropping or sick/dead birds.
Avoid visiting animal markets or poultry farms.
Do not bring any live birds or poultry including feathers.
Avoid eating undercook or raw poultry or duck.
So this was the list that you should avoid or maintain a safe distance for curing yourself and also from getting infected from the virus/Flu. Because the vaccines for the flu are still not available.
The outbreak in the United Kingdom:
Human Beings are not getting infected from the H5N1, H7N9, or H5N8 bird flu in the United Kingdom. The virus observed in humans of China is H5N6. The country is planning to manage the infectious person to a different place.
Some animals are also infected with the H5N8 bird flu in the United Kingdom. H5N6 is also observed in some of the wild birds of the United Kingdom but it is a different strain than China.
An outbreak in Haryana:
In Haryana also the two epicenters have the outbreak of the Bird Flu. They are Kheri and Ghanauli. In Barwala 4.37 birds have died in the bird flu and it Asia’s second-largest poultry belt. Its daily production capacity is 1 crore eggs.
Against this, the action has taken and it is the culling of birds will be done within a 1 km radius of epicenters. It is still not confirming that the human has infected by the flu or not. More than 10,000 workers are working in 140 poultry units of the Barwala belt.
On Thursday bird flu is found in Kerala, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh. To prevent the population from flu sufficient stock of PPE kits and accessories are there for culling operation.
And also the awareness to the public is vital and announce that consuming poultry product is safe but you need to boil or cook it before the consumption.
The secretary in the Department of Animal Husbandry and dairying have a meeting for the current status of the outbreak of flu and suggest the measure for controlling containment, and prevention against the flu.
